THESE DAYS, RESEARCH IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN EVER, AND NOT TO FORGET THE KEY ROLE PREVENTION CAN PLAY IN THE FUTURE OF CONSTRUCTION COMPANIES.
This research work has been awarded by the IRSST Chair: R + D + i for prevention, within the framework of the writing of a doctoral thesis that integrates the Prevention of Occupational Risks .
In this book, an X-ray of the current panorama of the Construction Sector is made, to later focus the analysis on the main deficiencies found in prevention and training.
Secondly, one of the deficiencies found is analyzed, relative to training in preventive matters. To do this, the professional qualification of the technicians who teach these training actions is examined, thanks to the data provided by the national enabling entity, the Construction Labor Foundation. The methodologies used in these training actions and the training and information that the worker receives about the risks inherent in their job are studied.
Finally, an analysis is made of the data produced by the second edition of the European survey of companies on new and emerging risks (ESENER-2) in contrast to the data obtained through our own surveys and focus groups on the various realities and problems faced by this Sector.
In addition, the degree of implementation and compliance by the companies of the Sector, both public and private, of the preventive control tool known as the Registry of Accredited Companies (REA) is studied.
